2008 Victoria Secret Fashion Show - Where the Curly-haired Girls At?

I'm about 16 minutes in this years show. What can I say, I'm a sucker for lingerie. I'm finding it really difficult to enjoy this years show. For reasons that are not new: There is such a blatant lack of diversity. Some one is singing "Babalu" apparently without a trace of irony that most of the models are blonde european women. SO we appreciate latin music but not their hair and hips? And if they are of Latino (or African) descent, the lovely features that make them so distinct have been reduced to the saaaame highlighted straight haired chicks that resemble a teeny tiny portion of the world. If someone walked out with an afro I would weep with joy.

I do not find the twelve year old models beautiful. I prefer to appreciate a wider scope of beauty that celebrates our uniqueness.
